Before you start
- Your correct WordPress admin address
- An existing administrator who can add users
- A current backup before significant changes
Keep passwords, one-time codes, card details and sensitive customer records out of your brief. Send access invitations through the platform itself.
Follow the steps
Step 1
Sign in to your own site and open Users, then Add New User.
Step 2
Enter a distinct username for Mourningstar and the email sai@mourningmedia.com. Do not reuse a former employee or your own account.
Step 3
Choose the role required for the work. An Administrator can manage the whole site; use it only when the build needs those capabilities.
Step 4
Let WordPress send its account invitation/reset email. Do not paste a password into WhatsApp or your project brief.
Step 5
Email us your website address and confirm the invitation. We verify access before changing the site.
Step 6
At handover, review users and remove access that is no longer needed. Keep your own administrator and recovery email current.

How to know it worked
We can sign in as a separate user and perform the agreed task. A hosting invitation alone may not provide a WordPress login.
If you get stuck
- Users menu missing? You may not be an administrator.
- Invitation absent? Check the address and mail folders before resending.
- WordPress.com or multisite? Tell us which platform you use; permission options differ.
Email sai@mourningmedia.com with your client reference, the step you reached and the exact error. A cropped screenshot helps; hide personal information and payment details first. We reply in writing.
